100 years of Nepali modern music is being held

Kathmandu. The program '100 Years in Nepali Modern Music' will be held in Kaski Pokhara on Friday 8th of 2079 under the organization of Nepal Academy of Music and Drama and the local management of Gandaki Pragya Foundation.

In the program, 29 songs and dances will be performed by Sethuram, who recorded the first song of Nepali music, to today's famous singers Rajesh Payal Rai, Ram Krishna Dhakal. Ashok Kumar Rai, coordinator of the program and head of the music department of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, informed that the history of progressive songs will also be covered in the program, as well as addressing the Nepali film industry. Rai also said that the program will be held for one hour and 30 minutes with the aim of providing information about the history of Nepali music.

The program will be held at Barahighat Lakeside in Pokhara, the main city of Gandaki Province. Each decade will be represented in the program and the songs will be presented as follows.

In addition, there will be a dance performance by Gandaki Pragya Pratishthan on the song Purbko Maya Paschim Lai Paschimko Mamaya Purblai, respecting and addressing the spirit of the people's movement of the entire 062-63.

Historical creations will be presented by Kunti Moktan, Bhishan Mukarung, Nisha Deshar, Durga Pariyar, Sanjay Tumrok, Sajan Rai, Rupak Chaudhary in the program. Similarly, Shila Bahadur Moktan, Manohar Sunam, Bharat Nepali, Bharat Budhathoki, Gopaldev Ghatani, Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Naresh Prajapati, Poshan Gharti are going to support the musical Instrument.
