Kathmandu. A meeting chaired by Haritara Film Award Patron Manoj Shamsher Jabra has decided to present the 2077 Haritara Film Award to distinguished film actress Mithila Sharma. The same meeting has also decided to present the 2078 Haritara Film Award to senior color journalist Bidur Giri.
The Haritara Film Award, established in 2052 BS by social worker Mrs. Vijaya Rana (Tara Nani) in the name of herself and her husband Hari Shamsher with a revolving fund, is the first award in the film industry.
The award of 2077 BS is being given to actress Mithila Sharma for her significant contribution for the upliftment, protection and rights of Nepali film industry for more than four decades as well as for bringing Nepali art, culture, theater and pride of Nepal in the country and abroad.
Similarly, the Haritara Film Award for the year 078 BS is being given to journalist Bidur Giri for his contribution for the promotion of Nepali art and culture, film sector and upliftment of professionals through journalism for more than three decades. The bag of prizes is twenty five thousand each.
