Agency: The world's highest grossing Hollywood film 'Avatar' will be re-released in the world market including Nepal before the next Dashain. Disney Studios is set to re-release the film on September 23 (Asoj 7).
The sci-fi film, which has grossed US $ 2.847 billion worldwide so far, was released in Nepal in 2009. Disney's official Nepal distributor Apple Entertainment chief Nakim Uddin has confirmed that the film will be re-released in Nepal.
Countries including India are preparing to re-launch 'Avatar' on the same date. With the release of the second sequel on Poush 1, the first part is to be shown to the viewers. As it has not been released in OTT till now, the 13-year-old generation has not been able to watch 'Avatar'.
"Unseen viewers will be able to see and will have an opportunity to remind those who have seen it,"
Uddin told online news. With the release of 'Avatar', 3D technology was also introduced in Nepal. Avatar is also the first 3D film to be released in Nepal.The blockbuster film 'Titanic' directed by James Cameron was also screened in 3D in Nepal. Even with the re-release of 'Titanic', it did well.
Manager of Ranjana Film Hall, Binod Poudel, said that the re-release of Avatar could affect other films for a week. Nepal is preparing to release a new series of 'Chakka Panja' in two weeks of Avatar re-release.
