Kathmandu. An arrest warrant has been issued against Subhas Thapa, the producer of the film Prasad 2, on the charge of defrauding him of 62 lakh 50 thousand by claiming to be a producer.
The Patan High Court has issued an arrest warrant against Thapa for banking offences. On the basis of the petition given by Keshav Pandey, the District Police Complex Kathmandu has obtained permission for the arrest from the court.
Kathmandu campus head Dan Bahadur Karki said that a complaint has been filed against Thapa and he is absconding. He, who was the producer of Prasad, took 62 lakhs 50 thousand from Pandey saying that he would be the producer of Prasad-2, and later made another producer and started shooting the film.
After Thapa absconded without paying the actors, technicians and Kaski's homestay where the film was shot, a complaint has been lodged with the Artists Association, Technician Association and the Film Development Board. Pandey also said that he has lodged a complaint with the Producers' Association.
He said that when he tried to file a complaint with the Film Development Board exposing Thapa's badass, he did not register the application on the instructions of the board's chairman Bhuvan KC. Gopal Kayastha, the distributor of Prasad-2, has prepared to release the film by influencing KC. The police have already written to the board informing them that an arrest warrant has been issued against Thapa.
He has been cheating on the cover of the film and has tried to pass the censor by registering it in the name of Prasad-2 sons. Sunil Kumar Thapa is also helping Thapa who is absconding. Thapa, who is absconding in a banking crime, wrote on Facebook and claimed that he will pay everyone's money after the release of the film.
