Artists Bhuvan KC, Rabindra Khadka and Shweta Khadka enter the Congress

Kathmandu: Actor Bhuvan KC has joined the Nepali Congress. Along with actor KC, actor Rabindra Khadka and actress Shweta Khadka also joined the Nepali Congress on Tuesday.

He was introduced to the party by party president and prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at a function held at the PM's residence in Baluwatar. Famous artists have entered the Nepali Congress in the face of local level elections.

Actor Khadka, who is also the president of the Film Artists' Association, said that he entered the party as per the decision to support the Democratic Party Nepali Congress. Khadka said that Bhuvan, Shweta and himself joined the Nepali Congress on the initiative of Maiti Nepal chairperson Anuradha Koirala.

Earlier, there was talk of Bhuvan Swagat becoming the mayoral candidate of Kathmandu from Nepal's party.

Artist Rabindra Khadka had earlier said that he wanted to be the mayor of Panauti municipality. He had also made this proposal to Deuba, who is also the chairman. KC and Khadka said that they entered the art field after seeing that the protection of the arts would come from the Congress.
