Kathmandu. Actor Bipin Karki and actress Swastima Khadka were declared the best actor and actress in the 'National Movie Awards 2080'. He was declared the best actor for the movie Prasad-2, while Swastima was declared the best actress for the movie Dimag Kharab.
On the same occasion, Chaityadevi Singh, the actress of the movie Aama, was honored with 3 lakh 75 thousand rupees. Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC said that the award was given to actress Chaityadevi in recognition of her contribution to the film industry for 50 years.
In the event, Nischal Basnet won the best director award for the movie 'Bulaki' and the best national movie award. Honors and awards were given by President Ramchandra Paudel at the 'National Film Awards 2080' program organized by the Film Development Board at the President's office. Films that were screened in 2080 were chosen by the judges and awarded in 10 categories.
On that occasion, the National Film Award 2080 and the Special Film Award of the same year were distributed. While the film 'Bulaki', which presents the story of a childless woman from Karnali, won the most 3 categories, 'Dimag Kharab' was adjudged the best in two categories. All the films that won National Film Awards received trophies and certificates with 25–25 thousand rupees.
This time, Badri Adhikari is the coordinator, and members of the National Film Jury are Ravichandra Adhikari, Sushil Pokharel, Somprasad Khatiwada, Gauri Shankar Dhuju, Sabnam Mukhia, and Deepa Pandey Basnet.
In the program, Raj Bahadur Sane and Shiv Dhakal were awarded the best cinematography and the best screenplay and dialogue from the movie Bulaaki. Similarly, Mitra D. Gurung received the award for best editing from Movie Mahajatra. For the best tribal film, the Limbu language movie Lozima managed to get the award, while Swastima Karki won the incentive award for the movie Tulki. Similarly, the best commercial film was released.
