Kathmandu. The organizing party has requested to include films, telefilms, and short films that want to participate in the '13th Nepal Africa International Film Festival-2025'. This festival will be held in Kathmandu in the first week of January. The form was opened two months before the festival.
This festival is going to be organized by the College of Journalism and Mass Communication and Sintika Creation and jointly organized by the Film Development Board. According to the organizers, the film has been received in a big way for the festival.
From this time, along with Africa, international groups have also been added, and films from other countries will also be shown at the festival. Although African films will be screened and awarded with special importance in the festival, the organizers say that some of the best films of the world will also be exhibited under the international group.
Filmmakers who want to participate in the festival have also been invited to submit their films by the end of December. For this, films can be included through filmfreeway.com and email and by directly contacting the organizer's office. It has been called to include Nepali and tribal films, short films, and documentaries. Similarly, students will also be able to participate in their short films at the festival. In the festival, the best films will be screened and awarded with awards.
The president of this event and the principal of the College of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr. Manju Mishra, has said that this festival, which was started 14 years ago, has contributed significantly to the provision of film and cultural dance in Nepal and Africa. We have been continuously organizing this festival to connect two different continents through movies, along with the culture of Nepal and Africa. It is our aim that Africa should be seen through an African lens.
According to Dabbu Kshattri, director of the festival, this festival has been organized for the past 14 years, but due to COVID, it could not be held for one year. Dabbu Kshattri has informed us that this festival will be organized for three days as before. According to the festival director, Kshatri, this year the festival will also have a gathering of foreign filmmakers along with Nepal. Along with film screenings, there are various programs such as film workshops and interactions on Nepali films.
