Kathmandu. On the occasion of World Music Day in Kathmandu, Nepal Music Association has given honors and awards to the personalities who have made special contribution in the field of art. Honorable Vice President of the country Nanda Bahadur Pun was the chief guest at the 'World Music Day and Music Association National Honors and Awards' program.
Senior Art Seeker Murali Dhar was honored with the Immortal Creator Shiva Shankar Manandhar National Music Honor and Award (Rs. 25,000) under the award and honor established in the memory of Immortal Creator who made special contribution in the program.
Similarly, Kumar Basnet, a senior art seeker, was honored with the Immortal Creator Pushpa Nepali National Music Youth Honor and Award (Rs. 25,000). Popular pop singer Dhiraj Rai was honored with Fatteman Raj Bhandari National Musical Youth Award and Prize (Rs. 25,000).
Similarly, Mahjodi was honored with 'Lal Samundra Multi-Talented Musical Honor and Award' (Rs. 25,000) established by popular director and artist Vikas Ghale Gurung in the name of his mother and father.
Similarly, Bhairav Bahadur Thapa, a senior choreographer, was awarded the National Honor and Award (Rs. 25,000) by the Nepal Music Association and Shantipriya, a senior journalist, was awarded the National Art Journalism Honor and Award (Rs. 5,000) by the Nepal Music Association.
Similarly, letters of appreciation were given to popular singer Ganesh Parajuli, lyricist Dabbu Chhetri, artist Bikram Jung Shah, social worker Binod Kumar Tamang, Raman Basnet and Nawaraj Tamang who have been supporting the Nepal Music Association since the past.
On the occasion of World Music Day and honors and awards program, ten creators were also given lifetime membership. Including lyricist Kiran K. Upreti, lyricist Niroj Bhatta, singer Santu Thapa, singer Sita KC, singer Purnima Lama, model Narayan Dhakal, director Purna Bahadur Thapa, director Dip Gurung, composer Deepak Sharma, music coordinator Amosh Tamang were given lifetime membership.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Hon'ble Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, while discussing the contribution of Nepal Music Association, wished good luck to all in the field of art. On the one hand, while celebrating World Music Day, on the other hand, such programs are becoming beneficial and fruitful for the preservation of art and culture by maintaining mutual harmony among the artists in the country, said Vice President Pun.
Likewise, he extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the personalities honored and awarded by the association and said that the government was committed to the art and culture of the country.
Vice President Ashish Abiral welcomed the guests at the event presided over by Nepal Music Association President Milan Moktan. The program was conducted by General Secretary Suman Pandit. Speaking on the occasion, senior singer Kumar Basnet, on behalf of the honorees, clarified to the artists regarding the establishment of a music association.
