Kathmandu. Actors Bashundhara Bhusal and Chaityadevi sat on a ten-hour hunger strike at Maitighar Mandla, demanding action be taken against the co-operatives who cheated the co-operatives.
The dharna of cooperative victims has been going on for 61 days in Maitighar. In the same sit-in, two Nepali film actresses also participated and sat on a fast for ten hours. They are scheduled to hold a sit-in until 10 p.m. on Monday. The actresses shed tears and said that they were on a sit-in because they were struggling to meet their household expenses.
Bashundhara, Chaityadevi, and Bhuvan Chand have already met the top party leaders and the Prime Minister to take the initiative to withdraw the trapped funds. But since there was no initiative from anywhere, they were forced to come to the streets and sit on dharna. It is said that 20.6 million rupees collected by 14 family members and relatives of Chaityadevi and Bashundhara have been trapped. In addition, they say that 1.5 million rupees deposited in the civil cooperative in the name of their social organization, Bhuvan Chaitya Bashundhara Foundation, have also been trapped.
