Kathmandu. The discussion and debate program for issue 2 of the book 'From the Pen of a Soldier,' written by author Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang, has concluded. The program, organized by the Lyricists Association of Nepal, was presided over by the association's president, Basanta Bityasi Thapa, and the chief guest was former minister and renowned lyricist SP Koirala.
At the ‘Creator and Creation—Discussion and Discussion’ program held at the auditorium of the Lyricists Association of Nepal, academic figures from the fields of music and literature discussed and debated the collection of poems, songs, ghazals, and articles by literary scholar Aash Bahadur Tamang (PhD), ‘From the Pen of a Soldier, Issue 2.’
Speaking about the creator, Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang, poet and lyricist Ananda Adhikari expressed his thoughts on his family and art and literature. Dr. Tamang was congratulated and wished well for his efforts to continue the legacy of his father, Chandra Bahadur Tamang, and mother, Dhanmaya Tamang, who were both singers of the Thado Bhaka from Lamjung district. Lyricist Adhikari said that the family background of the composer Tamang was musical and that his creativity flourished even while he was in the security service, making him a brave soldier and a creative genius.
Similarly, cultural scholar Bulu Mukarung, speaking about the poems, songs, and ghazals written by creator Ash Bahadur Tamang, said that he was a multi-talented personality. Mukarung said that Tamang's geography, family background, and the creations he made while in the security sector made him not only a patriotic and fearless soldier but also a multi-talented creator.
Similarly, speaking about Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang's essay writing section, Prof. Dr. Rabindra Khanal said that he was happy with his student's progress. While teaching Tamang, who holds a PhD on the subject of his time in the US Peace Corps, I examined all aspects of his life from that time on and found that his writings included everything from patriotism, love of country, and praise for brave soldiers to literature, art, and culture. He said that he found Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang as a person he understood closely.
Similarly, senior singer, director, and musician Narayan Rayamajhi, who has collaborated with Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang's mother, Dhanmaya, gave a congratulatory speech. He said that he had closely observed the family friendship and the creative spirit of Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang and said that he was a mine of talent.
The chief guest at the program, senior poet and lyricist SP Koirala, said that Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang was a creator of a special class and that he had a whole storehouse of literature just as a soldier. Chief guest Koirala also said that his musical and poetic sensibilities have illuminated the country's context.
The program was hosted by the association's vice president, Ramesh Koirala, who welcomed the guests with a welcoming speech, while Suman Bairagi hosted and facilitated the program. All the guests present at the event were welcomed with food by the association's treasurer, Chetan Khatiwada, and office secretary, Merry Magrati.
Concluding the program, Basanta Bityasi Thapa, president of the Lyricist Association of Nepal, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Shrestha Tamang for successfully establishing himself as a strong poet, songwriter, and singer. Saying that his creations are as powerful as they are, we should be inspired to engage in powerful creative work in the future. Chairman Thapa also requested everyone to work together on intellectual property and copyright.
The audio 'Gorkhali,' with lyrics by Dr. Ash Bahadur Tamang, was released at the event. The music composition of this song is by Amul Karki Dhali, and the vocals are by Ayumi Tamang, Alina B.K., and Suraj Thapa.
