Kathmandu. The famous Nepali rock star and actor Robin Tamang has passed away. Robin's sister, Bhagwati Tamang, said that Robin died at his house in Budanilkanth on Tuesday evening. Now, Ravin's body has been kept at the Tertiary Teaching Hospital in Maharajganj for post-mortem.
Inspector Dipendra Chand of Budhanilkanth police division said that singer Tamang's sister Bhagwati informed the police at 6 o'clock and accordingly reached her house in Budhanilkanth-5 Chiseni. The sister of the deceased informed the police. We immediately reached the spot and entered the house at the insistence of my sister. He was found dead.
Nothing seems suspicious. There is a normal situation. The scene looks clean," he said. He informed me that after completing all the procedures, Robin's body was taken to the Tertiary Teaching Hospital in Maharajganj.
Robin, who is also the vocalist of the band Robin and the Revolution, was also busy with movies recently. Robin Tamang is a Nepali singer, musician, actor, and founder of the rock band Robin and the New Revolution. His contribution to the development of songs in the Nepali rock genre is significant.
Robin was born in Singapore to a British military family. He is the youngest of five siblings in his family. Robin's childhood was spent in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Brunei, as his father was employed in the British Army and had to work in different countries.
During his elementary school education in Singapore, he listened to the songs of Jimi Hendrix and Deep Purple, which became a source of inspiration for him. He formed his second band, 'Tamang, in 1980 when he was studying at Humber College in Toronto and performed in various theaters.
In 1996, he returned to Nepal, went to Pokhara, his father's hometown, and joined the rock band Luja. He performed with Luja at various venues, but the tour ended in 2005 when the group disbanded.
He was influenced by the American singer and musician Jimi Hendrix and the rock band Deep Purple. He came to Nepal in 1996 and sang many songs like 'Dum Maro Dum', 'Kalpana', 'Keta Katti', 'Mero Maya', and Thikai Chha, which are famous among the youth.
He has acted in more than a dozen Nepali films, including 'Jai Pashuram', 'Badshah Jut', 'Chiso Ashtre', Maaqa', 'Chadke', 'Naka', and One Way'. His last film was 'Chadke 2, in which he played a gangster. He has also acted in the Hindi web series 'The Last Hour'.
