Chitwan. Four complaints have been lodged against Ravi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), who has registered nominations for the by-election of members of the House of Representatives to be held in Chitwan Region No. 2 on the 10th of Baisakh. The complaint was registered at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer today.
Three complaints were filed by the candidates and their representatives, while one complaint was registered by lawyer Yuvraj Paudel 'Safal' via email, informed the office's Assistant Election Officer Ishwar Acharya. Three other people filed a complaint against the claim of the candidate or candidate's representative.
On behalf of the Rashtriya Janamorcha, candidate Janakraj Sharma's representative Dumbar Puri, independent candidate Santosh Thapa and another independent candidate Ambika Bhatt's representative Shivhari Subedi filed the complaint.
Charya informed that the complaint filed by the candidate and his representative will be discussed and decided by 3 pm on Wednesday. He said that the candidate will be sent to the Election Commission after asking for a response from the candidate regarding the complaint filed by Safal. For the by-election, 24 people including 12 political parties have registered their candidacy in this area.
The by-elections are about to be held after the Supreme Court revoked the citizenship of Ravi Lamichhane, the chairman of the RSVP who was elected from this region in the House of Representatives elections held on November 4. There are 124,695 voters in this area. They will vote from 138 centers in 43 places.
