Kathmandu. The government has decided to remove veteran artist Madandas Shrestha from the Vibhushan Committee and replace him with musician Shambhujit Baskota.
Announcing the decision of the cabinet meeting, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki gave the information. The other members have been retained.
"It has been decided to appoint musician Shambhujit Baskota from the field of art instead of artist Madandas Shrestha, leaving the other members of the committee as they are," he said.
The Vibhushan Committee consists of six members, including the Deputy Prime Minister or the Senior Minister of the Council of Ministers, the Chairperson of the Home Ministry, and the notable persons in the national life, including women nominated by the Council of Ministers on the basis of the principle of inclusion. There is an arrangement for the Home Secretary to be the member secretary of the committee.
