Pokhara. "100 Years of Nepali Modern Music" music program has been completed at Barahighat in Pokhara. The program was for 1 hour and 30 minutes with information about the history of Nepali modern music. One Hundred Years Program in Nepali Modern Music is organized by Academy of Nepal Music and Drama.The program was presided over by Pragya Ashok Kumar Rai, head of the music department and coordinator of the program, and the chancellor of the institution, Narayan Bhakta Shrestha 'Rayan', was the chief guest, while Surya Khadka, the chancellor of Gandaki Pragya Academy, was the special guest.
In the historic event conducted by Manakumar Shrestha, Member Secretary of Gandaki Academy of Music, Member Secretary of Nepa Music and Drama Academy, Shyam Tamot, Prof. Haridevi Koirala, Prof. Prajapati Parajuli, Prof. Krishna Prasad Paudel, Prof. Dilkumari Poudel, Prof. Jayakumar Periyar, Prof. Gaj Bahadur Gurung, Professor Sarla Pandey, Secretary Hemraj Subedi Education Culture Social Development, Dr. Som Sapkota Head Zipant, Ashok Palikhe President Neva Khal, Besides, Gore Gurung, vice-chancellor of Gandaki Pragya Academy, Pokhara Pragya Academy Vice-Chancellor Papdmaraj Dhakal, Chabi Subedi, writer of the program, Bulu Mukarung and presidents of various associations and literary organizations were also present. Among the darshans of around 500 people, the present guests said that it was a musical entertainment as well as a historical and informative musical documentable program.
In the event, which had 29 performances, dance artists from the Tareli cultural family addressed the musical history of Nepali movies and danced to songs from the movie Maitighar called 'Vasant Nai Basan Khochcha' and 'Gairikhetko Shirai Hanyo' from the movie Prempinda. The dance was coordinated by Gandaki Pragya Pratishthan.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Narayan Bhakta Shrestha thanked Gandaki Pragya Pratishthan and all the participating artists for the local management. Chancellor Ryan also informed that the program will be performed in all seven provinces. Mankumar Shrestha, member secretary of Gandaki Pragya Foundation, said that he felt proud to join hands with the Nepal Music and Theater Pragya Foundation in such a historic event and that the two organizations will continue to cooperate in the future.
Ashok Kumar Rai, chairman and coordinator of the program, presented the program '100 Years of Nepali Modern Music' with the aim of showing the historical background of Nepali music to the new generation, which songs were created in this period, and who were the singers and musicians born. He informed that it will be taken to all seven provinces.
Kunti Moktan, Bhishan Mukarung, Nisha Deshar, Durga Pariyar, Sanjay Tumrok, Sajan Rai, Rupak Chaudhary presented historical creations in the program.
Shila Bahadur Moktan, Manohar Sunam, Bharat Nepali, Bharat Budathaki, Gopal Dev Ghatani, Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Naresh Prajapati, Poshan Gharti accompanied in Badyavadan.
