Kathmandu. Sikkim's lyricist, musician and poet Jeevan Sharma has been honored in Kathmandu. He was honored with a special honor in a special ceremony on Friday.
In the ceremony presided over by Krishna Bhusal, the editor of Milap, Chudamani Devkota, the current president of the Lyricists Association, Radheshyam Lekali, the former president of the International Nepali Literary Society and the president of the Literary Journalists Association, prominent writers Khemnath Dahal, Lekhnath Pokhrel, senior artist Uttam KC and others gave food, dosalla, garlands and honors to the creator Sharma. He offered his respect by letter.
In the program facilitated by director and journalist Madhavraj Kharel, creator Sharma said that he is a seeker of Nepali language, literature, art and culture and said that he is especially grateful for this honor he received in Nepal. He said that literature is not confined within any boundaries and its field is wide and expanding. Stating that this honor has added more responsibility to him, Sharma expressed his commitment that he will continue to work in this field in the coming days.
In the program, senior lyricist Devkota praised Sharma's contribution to song music and said that he is hopeful that more of his creations will irrigate the field of Nepali song music in the coming days. Likewise, writer Dahal praised the work of Milap and discussed the contribution of Srastha Sharma to the field of Nepali song and music. He said that Nepali-speaking language, literature, art and culture personalities who are outside Nepal have worked to connect with each other.
Similarly, artist KC praised Sikkim's efforts to prioritize Nepali language films. He said that our identity is our customs and culture and mentioned that such topics should be prioritized in our presentation.
Editor Bhusal said that he was honored to honor Srastha Sharma, who has been in the field of song and music for the past three decades in Sikkim, in Nepal. While discussing his contribution in this field, Sharma congratulated and wished him more powerful creations in the coming days. Talking about the work being done by Milap, he said that the creator Sharma was honored by highly appreciating the contribution made by the creators in the field of language, literature, art and culture. Similarly, Executive Editor of Milap Magazine and President of Milap Foundation Geeta Adhikari and other guests congratulated and wished Sarashta Sharma.
