Kathmandu: 'Kabaddi 4' has earned a record in the Nepali Diaspora. In the nine days since its release, the film has grossed over Rs 10 million from eight Australian states.
The earnings of 'Jatrai Jatra' have been surpassed by Dayahang Rai Starrer. This is the highest amount that any Nepali film has collected not only in Australia but also at the Diaspora box office.
It is said that 8,000 Nepalis watched the film in nine days and it will be screened regularly till June 29. The film is being screened at Event, Reading, Hoots, New Farm, Village, Regent, Chinatown, Mercury and Limelight Cinemas multiplexes.
Distributors Roshan Bhattarai and Binod Poudel said that the total earnings of the film will be over Rs. Currently, 3 to 4 shows are being shown daily and the ticket price is dollor 30.
The film has been screened simultaneously in Nepal and Australia on May 27. Australia is the largest market for Nepali films. For the first time, 'Loot' was looking for a market there.
