Nepali Kalasahitya.com has awarded the prestigious National Kalashree Award to renowned lyricist Yadav Kharel, while popular music composer Santosh Shrestha has been awarded the Padyanatra Kalashree Sangeet Award. Lyricist Kharel was honored with a cash sum of one lakh, while Shrestha was given a prize of Rs. 50,000.
Nepali Kalasahitya.com has honored six different writers and journalists who are involved in music, art, and literature. Senior lyricist, film director, and writer Yadav Kharel was awarded the 'Amulya Rashtriya Kalashree Samman' at the 'National Kalashri Samman' ceremony organized by Kalasahitya.com on Thursday in Kathmandu.
Similarly, senior storyteller Bhagirathi Shrestha was given a 'National Kalashree Award' worth Rs 1 lakh, the 'S-Siddhi National Kalashree Youth Award' worth Rs 75,000 was given to poet Krisu Chhetri, and the 'Thirchhaya National Kalashree Fine Arts Award' worth Rs 60,000 was given to painter Yadjan Rajbhandari. is
The 'Badri Rashtriya Kalashree Journalism Award' has been given to journalist Ashwini Koirala, editor-in-chief of Sahityapost Online, and the 'Padmanetra Rashtriya Kalashree Music Award' has been given to musician and singer Santosh Shrestha. The amount of both of these awards is equal to 50 thousand rupees.
Kiran Manandhar, the chief guest of the ceremony, congratulated the awardees and praised the role of connecting art and literature.
