Kathmandu. Based on Nepali time "Oppenheimer" dominated the BAFTA trophies, which were given out on Monday morning. It won seven categories, including Best Film, DIrector, and Actor. "Poor Things", the second ranked movie, took home five trophies.
Sarah Putt, President of BAFTA, welcomed the star-studded crowd to London's Royal Festival Hall before the ceremony began. Catherine, the spouse of Prince William, was also present at the event. William refrained from speaking at the ceremony, citing his increased anxiety following the news last week that King Charles, his fathert was a cancer patient.
The likelihood of Oppenheimer winning an Oscar has increased with the BAFTA victory. The Christopher Nolan directed movie has received nominations in 13 different categories for the upcoming March Oscars.
