He has become a guru for those involved in the profession of photography. Established as a leading cinematographer, he has shot thousands of music videos. Madhur has also done filming, directing and modeling in music videos.

Madhur Basnet belongs to the person who presents mellowness like the name. Cinematographer Madhur Basnet had his early education in Sillong, India. He did his higher education from St. Joseph's College, Darjeeling. While studying in college, he was attracted to the field of film, so he returned to Nepal after gaining knowledge about cameras.

After the establishment of Nepal Television in the year 2042, the songs heard on the radio started appearing on the television as well. With the expansion of the reach of television to reach the general public, other television channels also began to operate, as a result, along with the production of videos of Nepali songs and music, television programs also began to be produced.

Cinematographer Madhur Basnet returned to Nepal from India after receiving general camera training in 2052, almost a decade after the establishment of Nepal Television. Today, he has become a proud name in the music video production of Nepali songs.

After meeting with Baburaja KC (Ujjwal), Binod Sharma, Gopal Baskota and others who were working on making programs for Nepali television, he started making foreign employment, information and news programs related to foreign employment around 2052. After shooting and broadcasting about 52 episodes, Madhur ventured into the field of documentary and advertisement.

Along with Baburaja KC (Ujjwal) and Gopal Baskota, he started a company named Krishna Films in Dillibazar in 2054. Remembering those days of struggle, Madhur Basnet says - 'The office was opened. 7000 rent for a flat. The work is not much, what to do, after what to do, we advised to make a video of the double song. We started running towards music companies for marketing. Dhaulagiri Cassette Center, which had just started after a long wait, allowed them to produce the video by giving 3000. No one was as happy as we were that day.

He said that there was a problem of where to show the video after making it. We spoke on Nepal Television. At that time, after the news of 7 o'clock in the morning was over, five minutes of time was bought and a one-minute promo was shown. After that, the number of music video productions started to increase. After the continuous production of videos, Madhur's work also continued and made him busy with filming. Krishna Films set the journey of name and price.

He said that time is not on one's side, 'The untimely death of Gopal Baskota, a very friendly, supportive, director friend of Krishna Films in the year 2064, is still heartbreaking'.

Madhur Basnet has filmed more than 8000 music videos, including Big Screen Magician 2, Jesupai Hos, Naina Resham, TV movie Cheli, Shakti, etc.

He not only operates the camera, but also directs. Modeling in songs. He has modeled in many songs including Bhariya Dai, Mohni Bolima, Mayale Maryo, Kalipare Dai.

Madhur Basnet, who has received the best music video director award in Tele Awards 2068, has received various awards and honours. In the 12th Vindhyavasini Award 2078, he received the award for the best cinematographer. Madhur, who acted as a judge in various reality shows and competitions, has also received various honors and certificates.
