Agency: Shahid Kapoor's film 'Jersey' has hit the box office, after which Ram Gopal Varma has done many tweets and has given good advice to Bollywood.
Remakes of Southern cinema are in vogue in the Bollywood industry. The recently released Shahid Kapoor film 'Jersey' is also a remake of Telugu sports drama, which has fallen head over heels at the box office. Now filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has given his reaction by tweeting on Bollywood remakes of Southern films and has said that it is more beneficial to dub in Hindi than to remake these Southern films.
'Jersey's tragic end signals'
Ram Gopal Varma has done many tweets on this issue and has written, 'The sad end of the movie Jersey in Hindi is a sign of the end of the remake of the South. The simple reason for this is that the Hindi dub of Southern films like Pushpa, RRR, KGF2 has fared better than the original, if the content is good. With this, he has shared the tremendous hashtag #DeathOfRemakes, which speaks of the end of the remake.
'A waste of time, money and effort'
He further wrote, "If Nani's original film Jersey made in Telugu had been dubbed in Hindi, the producers would have spent only Rs 10 lakh, but spending Rs 100 crore in Hindi remake did not help. It was a waste of time, money, hard work and face. '
Beaten 'Jersey' at the box office
Let it be known that the box office of Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' has been pitted since the opening day. This sports drama film made under the direction of Gautam Tinnanuri is not able to survive anywhere. The film has grossed only Rs 15.50 crore in four days.
