Kathmandu. Veteran singer and music composer Poorna Gurung passed away at the age of 55. He passed away at his residence in Manohara. Singer Gurung, who had been undergoing dialysis for a long time due to kidney failure, had returned to his work. Singer Namraj Dhungana informed that Gurung, who was undergoing treatment despite appearing normal, passed away today. Singer Dhungana said that his body will be taken to his birthplace Bhairahawa at 5 am tomorrow for burial.
Singer and composer Gurung, who passed the vocal examination from Radio Nepal in the year 2048, has sung bhajans, modern and folk songs. Gurung, who started his singing journey with the song of Meri Priyasi Bol, was also known as a famous music coordinator in recent times. In the 60s-70s, hundreds of folk songs and modern songs were recorded in his compositions. The songs composed by him are Batti Baleko in Panas, Gate in Damauli, Raizhuma and others. Gurung has composed music for more than 2000 songs and composed music for more than 13000 songs. He has given his voice in dozens of songs. The songs he sang are still popular in Radio Nepal.
