Kathmandu. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has invited six applicants for the post of chairman of the Film Development Board, which has been vacant since Shrawan 8, for an interview.
The Ministry has officially informed us that six filmmakers have applied. The ministry has published a notice and said that it has called for the presentation of professional action plans and interviews.
Dineshraj Dahal (known as Dinesh DC) of Tokha Municipality-6, Kathmandu, Arjun Kumar Dangol of Bidur Municipality-2, Arjun Kumar Dangol of Nuwakot, and Karishma Manandhar of Godavari Municipality-3, Lalitpur, have been called to the ministry after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Similarly, Deepa Pandey Basnet of Changunarayan Municipality-8, Bhaktapur, Prakash Bhattarai of Biratnagar Metropolitan Municipality, Morang, and Rajesh Thapa of Mahalakshmi Municipality-4, Lalitpur, have been summoned after 7 a.m. on Thursday.
These six filmmakers applied to the ministry within the 15-day application period given by the board. Among these six people, director Dinesh DC seems to be a strong contender. It seems that Dinesh DC, who is close to the government in terms of the film industry's contribution, leadership role, future action plan, and organization of the film industry, is sure to become the president.
